Rage and anger can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re just starting your awakening journey. These emotions are natural, and they hold important messages for you. They arise because something within you needs attention, love, or healing. There is a part of you that has been supressed or disconnected.
Instead of avoiding or suppressing anger, we can meet it with curiosity, compassion, and intention.
Here’s how to navigate rage and anger somatically and spiritually:
1. Pause and Ground Yourself
When anger arises, the first step is to pause and ground. Anger often pulls us into a fight-or-flight response, so grounding helps you stay present.
How to Ground:
Place your feet flat on the floor or the earth. Feel the connection to the ground beneath you.
Take three deep breaths. Breathe in through your nose for four counts, hold for four counts, and exhale slowly through your mouth for six counts. This calms your nervous system.
2. Feel the Sensations in Your Body
Anger is energy moving through your body. Instead of analyzing or judging it, bring your awareness to where you physically feel it. Sometimes you will feel it through thr entire body, one area or just in the chest (heart attack- heart waiting to open, clear and embrace). That is NO MEDICAL advice just a spiritual twist of whats really happening on an energetic level.
Ask Yourself:
"Where is the anger in my body? Is it in my chest, stomach, jaw, or hands?"
"What does it feel like? Is it tight, hot, or heavy?"
Somatic Step:
Place your hand gently over the area where the anger feels strongest, and breathe into that space. Imagine your breath creating more space and softening the intensity.
3. Move the Energy
Anger is powerful energy that needs to move through your body to release. If it gets stuck, it can lead to frustration, resentment, or even physical pain.
Ways to Release Anger Somatically:
Shake your body: Stand up, let your arms and legs go loose, and shake everything out. Imagine the anger leaving through your fingertips and toes.
Pound a pillow or a mattress: This gives your body a safe way to express without hurting yourself or others.
Stomp your feet: Imagine you’re grounding the anger into the earth. The earth is strong and can transmute that energy for you.
4. Make Sound
Your voice is a powerful tool for release. Give yourself permission to express anger vocally. This helps you tap into the primordial energies of the earth as well.
How to Use Your Voice:
Scream into a pillow or in your car (if it’s safe to do so).
Hum, growl, or make primal sounds. These sounds help release stuck energy in your throat chakra and body.
5. Breathe to Release
Once the intensity subsides, focus on calming your body.
Breathing Technique:
Inhale deeply through your nose, imagining clean, calming energy entering your body.
Exhale through your mouth with a sigh, imagining the anger leaving your body like smoke. Keep doing it for about 6 rounds or more until you feel another sensation or something moving in the body.
6. Reflect and Acknowledge
When you’ve moved through the anger, take a moment to reflect on its message. Anger often points to a boundary that’s been crossed, a need that isn’t being met, or a past wound that’s been triggered.
Ask Yourself:
"What was I feeling before the anger came up? Hurt, fear, or frustration?"
"What is this anger trying to protect or teach me?"
Affirmations:
"I am safe to feel my emotions."
"Anger is here to guide me, not control me."
7. Reconnect with Your Spirit
After releasing anger, bring yourself back into balance by nurturing your energy.
Spiritual Practices:
Place your hands over your heart and take a moment of gratitude for yourself. Say, "Thank you for holding space for me."
Visualize yourself surrounded by a golden or white light, cleansing and protecting your energy.
Journal about the experience. Write down what you felt, what you learned, and how you’ll honor yourself moving forward.
Final Thoughts
Anger is not your enemy; it’s a signal that something within you needs attention.
By allowing yourself to feel and process anger somatically, you give anger a healthy outlet and prevent it from controlling your actions. Every time you consciously work with your emotions, you strengthen your connection to your higher self and bring your soul fragments together.
You are learning to alchemize rage into wisdom and power—step by step, with love and compassion. 💛
