Body Dismorphia- A spiritual shift in self-love.

Today, I talked about body image and the fear of rejection from both myself and others. This conversation left me feeling vulnerable, as I used to constantly seek approval from others and managed my emotions through eating until a wake-up call changed my perspective. I viewed food negatively and never saw myself as beautiful, whether I was overweight or thin.
I still find myself embarrassed by my past struggles with weight and how I neglected the parts of me that just wanted love. Ultimately, I ended up despising myself and everything I stood for. I saw myself as my own enemy, rather than the best friend I needed and wanted.
I would often punish myself and get lost in a spiral of emotions. I couldn't pay attention to myself because of all the old programming that needed addressing, and I didn't know where to start. I had been influenced for years by societal ideals of what the feminine image should look like, including weight expectations. Many women around me were undergoing plastic surgery to improve their appearance without working on their inner selves. Throughout my life, I was told, "you're big-boned" and "a little chubby is good, at least you have a pretty face." Looking back, I see how much these beliefs were imprinted on me, projecting their own ideas and programming onto me. By the way, what does "big-boned" even mean?
Women everywhere were having plastic surgery to achieve that ideal look, that perfect image, what they viewed as external perfection. But what about the internal work? Wasn't that important too?
As a child, I used food for comfort, eating my emotions. Honestly, I'm still recovering from body dysmorphia................decades later. With each deeper layer of healing, I realize it's connected through generations of women. Maybe 27 generations of gunk cleared through me.
It's interesting to reflect on my childhood; now I can understand my actions and behaviors, which made complete sense. I would seek support from my mom, become emotional, and she wouldn't know how to respond. Her response was to ignore me, emotionally neglecting me, as she was often caught in her own struggles.
I often helped myself to whatever I wanted, and she didn't seem to care. She wasn't the mom who stocked up on snacks or soda, but when she did, I ate everything I could and still didn't feel full or nourished. I wonder why? The nourishment I needed was .......love from my mother and emotional connection and validation. I learned that when I needed emotional support, I turned to food instead of holding space for myself or tuning into my body to understand my true needs. Now I don't do this, but back then, it was all I knew.
As I grew older, my weight fluctuated. After ending my engagement in my 20s, I achieved the best physical condition of my life by prioritizing my well-being, both professionally and personally. I realized that despite being physically attractive, I wasn't healthy—I smoked, drank, and was emotionally reserved, putting on different facades depending on who I was with. I merely pretended to be happy and hid my true feelings! The truth is, we need to step out of our comfort zones and explore deeper. It's soul work—an understanding. Losing weight has been a spiritual journey for me.
We must engage in inner work to uncover the origins of these beliefs! I assure you, if you do, you'll start to see significant changes! You'll become unstoppable. RTT Hypnotherapy helped me regress through time and my devotion to god and myself. If you feel called to address the deep-rooted beliefs that have held you back, please reach out. Let's do the work together....
